Golfer Gary Player pulls off backflip, Greg Norman skinny dips

July 16 (UPI) -- Gary Player obliged this weekend when his grandchildren challenged him to backflip into a lake.

Player, 81, posted a video of the accomplishment on his Twitter feed Sunday. The nine-time major championship winner rested his feet on the edge of a boat with his back toward the water before plunging backwards into a body of water in the footage. He holds hands with somebody before launching his body toward the water and flipping his legs over his head. Player doesn't complete a full turn, but his movement was still impressive. He landed on his head and stomach.

"Age is just a number & we are only as old as those surrounding you #grandchildrenschallenge #playerfamily," Player wrote for the caption on the seven-second video.

But Player isn't the only golf legend maintaining a top-level physique. Greg Norman, 62, has a habit of showing off his workouts on social media. "The Shark" posted a video of some impressive leg-lifts back in May, despite coming off of a torn aponeurosis.

Norman posted a nude photo on Instagram from a lake on Saturday in Colorado.

"Not too many options here at 11,850 ft in the Colorado Flat Top Wilderness after 2 days in the saddle!!!! #chilly," Norman wrote on the caption for his photo.

Norman is a two-time major winner.

The South African turned professional in 1953. His last major victory came at the 1978 Masters. Player also won the Masters in 1961 and 1974. He won the 1965 U.S. Open, the 1962 and 1972 PGA Championship and won The Open Championship in 1959, 1968 and 1974.

Player and Norman are both members of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
